Fargo North Dakota Restaurants
When you think of North Dakota, you usually think of the city of Fargo and its many restaurants. Taco Bag, also known as Walking Taco, is also appearing in other places, but the group, which sells concessions at basketball and hockey games, insists it's a "North Dakota thing." It turns out that the fried chicken and potato salad, along with the hot dogs, fries and spicy sauce, are all North Dakotans.
The filling can be spicy - like curd cheese and onions - but most modern customers prefer the more traditional version, which is served with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and a spicy sauce. To get a true taste of North Dakota, they have opted for a sweeter - and spicier - version of it, served drizzled with diced syrup.
If you are feeling adventurous, try the fried prawns with cream cheese and vegetables served with a sweet chili sauce, or the steamed mussels garnished with bacon, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, onions and a spicy tomato sauce. Consider the bite into the Pacific Northwest with the garlic - infused olive oil - and olive oil sandwich. Try the Tater Tot, made with Rockefeller - a combination of bacon and cheese with tomatoes, onions, peppers, garlic and onions, with lettuce and tomatoes.
The hardy June Rose is native to North Dakota, but not widespread in the prairies of the USA and Canada. Try it when you're in a state, as it's one of my favourite fruits and a great addition to any meal.
The bison has been a staple of the region for over a century and is one of North Dakota's most popular animals and a great source of protein. German-speaking immigrants from what is now Ukraine, who were cowboys, brought cakes to North Fargo in the 1880s. It is the perfect accompaniment to the coffee they serve today at coffee weddings, and it is a perfect meal for those of us who have lived in the North Minnesota Badlands in recent years, or even longer! The sausage and beer hall, which has tons of beer on tap and on the communal table, is also doing well.
In addition to its staples, the restaurant is also known for its good food, good service and great atmosphere. From the home-made queso and parmesan - deep-fried walleye strips to starters including beef breast platters and jumbo shrimp - Speedway has something for everyone.

Typically, it is fried in butter, boiled, sautéed with onions and topped with a dollop of caramel sauce and a dash of maple syrup. Freddy's Lefse in West Fargo, where the same family has been making Lefse since 1946 and where they have done it every Wednesday. Those who do not make their own treats at home buy frozen cheese buttons from the Ukrainian Cultural Institute in Dickson and take freshly cooked dumplings on Wednesdays and give them a dollop of lemon juice. Stay away from hot food and don't make a beginner's mistake where you risk your mashed potatoes getting a garish color.
German-Russian standby dishes, the dumplings range from pillow and soft to thick and chewy, which is good enough to be served by the dinners and cafes. With locations in Fargo, Bismarck, Mandan and Minot, this is a 50s-style restaurant to visit. These restaurants, which host the infamous Grinder Sandwich, have built a reputation for simple, perfectly prepared food. IDK is full of appetizers ranging from pizza and Mediterranean fried cucumbers to fried steaks with entree options such as grilled salmon, grilled steak strips and roast steaks from the country.

If you're a fan of the Fargo Brewing Company and its beers, pay a visit to their first in town. Try some of their brews, made from barley grown by local farmers and malted right on the street.
The blackbird sits on the slightly less eccentric side, offering wood-fired pizzas that are locally oriented. Among the extensive options for vegan cakes is the Tater - a hot pizza that Alicia swears is perfectly baked. Also called hearty street food, it offers a variety of toppings such as ketchup, mustard, garlic, onions, peppers, tomatoes and garlic sauce.
